History of Shinkoiwa

The place name "Shinkoiwa" was born in 1966.

Originally, it was a collection of towns called ``Kamihiraicho'' and ``Hirainakacho,'' but Shinkoiwa was born as a result of the reorganization of the town.

Since "Koiwa Station" existed before Shin-Koiwa was born, the name "Shin-Koiwa" comes from it.

Currently, it continues to develop as a downtown area while retaining the remnants of the Showa era shopping street.
