For those of you coming to Japan for study abroad or a working holiday!
Also, for those planning a trip to Japan (Tokyo), we'll introduce the climate and appropriate clothing!
*Please note that because the Japanese archipelago is long from north to south, temperatures vary considerably depending on the region! This information is based on Tokyo.
First, let's look at the average temperature in Japan ↓

This is actually what I'm wearing on February 1st. Lol
The temperature is 9 degrees Celsius.
There was a snow forecast for Tokyo, but this outfit was just right.
This winter is unusually mild...
So, things like padded jackets, which are commonly worn in Korea, are a bit too hot in Japan...
It might be okay to bring it if you're traveling to Hokkaido or somewhere similar, but it's probably overkill for Tokyo!
I think I'd sweat especially if I were on a train.
Tested using outerwear worn by Cross House staff. Lol
It's quite thin, isn't it!
For those who are cold, wearing UNIQLO Heattech as an inner layer and carrying a scarf should be enough! (laughs)
Just in case, I carry a UNIQLO ultralight down jacket with me!
Since I tend to get hot easily, I don't like wearing overly thick coats or down jackets, so when it suddenly gets cold, I wear an ultralight down jacket underneath to cope. (laughs)
There's about a 10-degree Celsius difference between Korea and Japan, so it might be easier to understand if you think of November-December in Korea as being roughly equivalent to February-March in Japan.
Looking at the weather in March of last year, the highest temperature was around 17 degrees Celsius, so it can be quite warm on some days.
Also, since cherry blossoms start blooming from the latter half of March, the coldest period is in February!
If you're coming to Japan in February or March, you probably don't need to worry too much about the cold.
Outerwear is bulky, so try not to pack too much.
