History of Heiwadai

Heiwadai was originally a village called ``Honmura'' in the former Shimonerima Village.

In 1929, the town was established as Nerima Town, but three years later, in 1932, it was divided into three parts: Kita Town, Naka Town, and Minami Town.

When residence markings were implemented in 1965, there was a plan to adopt the name ``Honmura'', but due to opposition from local residents, the current name ``Heiwadai'' was adopted.
