History of Meidaimae


The name "Meidaimae Station" comes from the fact that the Meiji University campus is located in front of the station.

It originally opened as ``Hakupowaku-mae Station,'' but was later renamed to ``Matsubara Station.''

The current name of "Meidaimae Station" was born when Meiji University's Izumi campus was relocated.

Additionally, since 2017, Meiji University's school song has been adopted as the train proximity melody on the Keio Line platform.
