History of Iogi
During the Meiji period, the current Iogi area was divided into four villages: Kami-Igusa, Higashitama-gun, Shimo-Igusa, Kami-Ogikubo, and Shimo-Ogikubo.
When the four villages merged, the place name ``Iogi'' was created, taking its name from ``Igusa'' and ``Ogikubo.''
Iogi Station opened in 1927 (Showa 2).
After that, immigration from other areas gradually increased.
However, there is no major development currently taking place around the station, and the area remains a quiet townscape.
