History of Kamiitabashi
The place name ``Kami Itabashi'' comes from the fact that Itabashi Village was divided into ``Kami Itabashi Village'' and ``Shimo Itabashi Village'' in the early Edo period.
It was originally included in Urawa Prefecture (currently Saitama Prefecture), but later was incorporated into Tokyo Prefecture (currently Tokyo Metropolitan Government).
Plans for the redevelopment project will begin in 2021, and a large office, commercial, and residential complex is scheduled to be built in front of the station by 2028.
