History of Saginomiya

The Saginomiya area began to develop as a residential area during the period of high economic growth following the war.

The area was originally filled with fields and wetlands, but gradually construction of housing complexes progressed and the population increased.

After the Seibu-Shinjuku Line was built, rents and land prices began to rise, and population growth has leveled off.

In recent years, facilities such as convenience stores and restaurants have been expanded, but the rich greenery and roadside Jizo statues still remain as they were in the past.
