History of Daikanyama

The place name ``Daikanyama'' was created in 1893, and was given this name because it was land owned by the former Daikansho.

It was originally a mountainous area, but after the Great Kanto Earthquake, rapid recovery progressed and it developed into the area it is today, where many people gather.

Due to its proximity to Shibuya, it has become established as a fashion district in recent years, and has become a place where many young people gather.
