History of Magome


The area that is now called ``Magome'' was called ``Magome Writers Village'' from the late Taisho period to the early Showa period, and was home to many writers and artists.

Along with this, many literary works have survived, including Jun Sakakiyama's ``Magome Writers' Village'' and Saisei Muro's ``Magome Diary.''

However, in the wake of World War II, exchanges between writers at Magome Writers' Village drastically decreased.

After the war, the area was gradually developed into a residential area and continues to this day.
