History of Kamata

Because Kamata is located near the sea, it was known as a seaweed production area during the Edo period.

However, as the waterfront area was reclaimed, its history as a seaweed producing area came to an end, and the area turned into a residential area.

In 2020, the ``Kamata Station East Exit Area Urban Redevelopment Preparation Association'' was established, and the development of a new commercial area is underway.
